I signed up for iLike a few weeks ago. At first, I thought it was very much like last.fm, and in many ways it really is. What sets it apart, though, is the collaboration the site has with one of my favorite places to find new music, garageband. iLike doesn’t just let you listen to songs and suggest others to buy; it also suggests similar songs you can download for free. That is a feature that I really like.

I think the real power of finetune is the ability to have their music appear on your own site by embedding their player. As I evolve this site, I may just have it start playing music right on this page.

Pandora is the first music site I ever tried. And it is still my favorite. Being able to listen to tracks just like the songs you suggest is a very powerful feature. It is a great way to find new songs and new artists that you would never have found otherwise.

I have never really used last.fm very much but I know it has a devoted following. I definitely plan to explore the possibilities more in the future.
